About a week ago, numbers were spray-painted on the piers of the Veterans Memorial Bridge. The numbers are in order, starting from the Wrightsville side, on the south side of the piers only.
Heard that next year there is a multi-multi million dollar bridge project starting….cement work, new road deck, arch lighting, etc. Maybe it has something to do with that. If not, everyone else knows that the piers should be numbered from Columbia going towards Wrightsville otherwise.
