I can remember when Columbia was an idyllic place to be. The streets were safe and you could walk around town anytime anyplace. Fast forward to today…take a walk and all you see are people that you don’t know and think that you are in there territory. I firmly believe that one of the main problems is unregulated section 8 housing. While these people may need a place to live, they come here with all of their baggage and don’t care about this town or the real Columbia people who do care. Another problem as I see it is the police force…where are they?? I see no patrols, there is no police presence at all. They seem to go out of there way NOT to make arrests. As I walk around town I see dozens of cars illegally parked. What message does this send. That it’s wide open in Columbia? Yes we have some real problems…the main problem just be the man in charge!!
