  2. EASY NO TAG NO PICK UP. WHERES THE COMMOND SENSE IN THIS TOWN ANY MORE! How can any one even think that people won't abuse this and make problems for some one else?

  3. We had a neighbor doing this for years including adding his recyclables to our bin. We notified the boro and they said “it's all going to the same place, he probably doesn't have much”. He eventually got his own service – but …. just saying you may be right.

  4. Tell the police that, I had a address, name on trash put at our house and the police and myself went to the house and the officer just made them take the trash back even though I wanted to press charges.

  5. Did the person at the borough read what they wrote before they printed this list? This is UNACCEPTABLE for a (union) borough representative to publish this.

  6. #2 says requires tags, #3 says Items picked up WITHOUT TAGS will be invoiced to property owner. CAN WE GET THIS STRAIGHT, and youall know that people use other peoples street fronts to not pay.

  7. Especially if the person is an FOP in Columbia (friend of police). Trust me this guy definitely is. I think he must be an informant for them.

  8. “White” items are industrial lawman's term for appliances. Like mixers, blenders, toaster, ovens, etc. Geez get real. Are we that sensitive? Unbelievable.

  9. With all the tax dollars that the borough throws away on things they should just bit the bullet and not charge any thing to clean up in the spring, they want it cleaned up they should help the home owners ,it would cost them (us tax payers)less than the council threw away on 208-210 locust street property ($151,000)not to mention the other BAD investments council made . The river park money pit is costing $90;000 just to study the third part, can you imagine the cost of lighting and roads for the police just to be able to police it and for what how many towns people will use it,it is big enough now, look at the stuff painted on the wall beside the walking trail now is that what they want to see? It is starting to look like slums out side of Philly, PLEASE TELL THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL TO STOP THIS MADNESS!!!!

  10. TVs and other electronics have to go to the household hazardous waste facility on HBG pike. They take them for free (up to 10 a day or something).

  12. Maybe columbia should be like marietta, or lancaster city, where there is 1 contracted trash service, where the taxes ( as high as they are) pay for trash service to make sure every week trash is picked up. I believe if everyone has a trash tote, and recycle been and 1 trash service, that alot of columbias trash problems would be taken care of!! This spring clean up would then just be a sat where the 1 trash contractor would go and pick up, or it would have been taken care of through out the week!!

  13. What happens if the wrong tag is put on something? $5 is cheap for a mattress for example. Does someone at the borough know what to sell for items or is it questionable? This should be worked out now before it comes up.
