Yes, there is a Hill Campus.
A student reportedly made threats against the school here last week, but the issue was quickly addressed by the school resource officer.
(In typical Columbia opaque fashion, however, no notification of the incident has been posted on the school district website.)
The awnings at Hinkle’s have been changed from blue to burgundy. The larger awnings are about to get the same treatment. The frames can be seen in the photo above.

But what’s happening to the lights?
Several have been knocked off the tree.
Some are broken.
Was it the wind…
…or something nefarious?
Surely, one of the borough’s “covert” cameras would have caught any perpetrators.

Several downspouts that were installed just last year have been damaged.

These damages to the Down Spouts must be done by outsiders because all Columbia kids are taught to respect other peoples property and they would not damage these DOWNSPOUTS.

In reference to the sign… “rules of the playground” isn't it ridiculous, but necessary in our sue happy society because folks lack common sense!

Mostly all signs of inconsistencies – nature's and Columbia's. Damaged borough vehicle with no explanation (wonder if there'll be one coming). Damaged downspouts and maybe at the Locust Street park with no explanation (wonder, too, if there'll be spy camera records). Signage saying one thing countering another. Massive “beyond potholes” potholes and streets in disrepair will at least be visible at night with several hundred thousands of street lights. Operating social club.

2nd st pothole is from homeowner not replacing blacktop when they replacer their crub as REQURIED by CODES a couple of YEARS A GO

That gutter line has been like that since the mid 90s, when they repaired and replaced that fire hydrant in front of 324 s second street, no real repaire have been made to south second street, since prob late 80s early 90s, lawrence street was paved but not south second, the borough rides by it all the time, also the codes doesnt say u need to pave 20 feet out infront of your new curb when its replaced!!! There is alot of maintenace repairs that need done all over town that the highway dept could be preparing now, but instead there ruining the floor of the market house, and cleaning up tables!!

so we just run the new street sweeper over it instead of fixing it or holding the home owner responceable. Wait till they hit that with a snow plow, repair cost tax payers.

Does this mean there is a standoff between the borough and home owner? so the borough just lets it go. Hope they treat everyone the same .

i dont think the CODES DEPT HAS SAID ANY THING TO THEM ABOUT IT ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS LOOK AT THE PERMIT THEY GAVE TO THE HOME OWNR

the gutter line was fine after the fire hydrant was put in and no you dont have to pave 20 feet out IF THEY HAD DONE IT WHEN IT SHOULD OF. MAKE THE HOME OWNER PAY TO FIX IT

That gutter line has been messed up for over 25 years, just like the man hole that always has the pot holes in it diagonal from where this pic was taken, i grew up on that corner, and a realtive owned at one time 4 properties on that block. Its nothing new except as years go by and no repairs were made its getting worse

For the over payed employees with alot of free benefits, im pretty sure columbia could save thousands, a year if they would make the highway employees pay there share, i think the home owners should be aware of how good they make out. Nobody in PA gets the package they get..

People this is what your Taxes pay for, NOTHING, ALL THE TAXES ARE GOING INTO THE HIGHER UPS POCKETS AND THE CITIZENS ARE GETTING SCREWED EACH AND EVERY YEAR. I have NEVER heard of any home owner paving a borough street. That is misinformation. Our taxes pay for street paving. I want a refund if homeowners are now paying for street blacktop. If this is the case then the homeowners on Walnut Street need to get busy.

Has anyone gone over to the market house and looked in the window? The highway dept, used a lift rig on the inside of the building on 200 year old sand and brick and they have the original brick flooring all broke up in the one corner, and u can see the ruts from the weight of the machine all threw out the building, now whats the cost to repair the damaged floor? And who is gonna lease something that is trashed??

20 feet is the usual width of a two way street, so you are saying that the homeowner must put blacktop over the width of the street? This is more work than UGI does after ripping the streets all to hell.

Come on the borough can afford a couple wheel barrels of cold patch. DOES ANY ONE IN THE BOROUGH SEE HOW INMATURE THIS SOUNDS ? The people pay taxes fix the gutter,don't make this borough look any worse than it is.

The metal sticking up at the historic building looks dangerous, what if a kid on a bike lands on them,or a car hits them,or a number of accidents could happen. This looks more of a problem for codes than a half inch of snow on side walks.

That is not a sidewalk on the side of CHPS. Why don't you donate some money to these hard working volunteers at the museum so they can fix the issue. Spellcheck is a wonderful asset to all computers!
