  2. I wholeheartedly agree that is an exorbitant salary for this small school something has to be done we cannot afford this. Our taxes are high enough.

  4. And you think merging with another district will save money? Think again. Merging will certainly give our students better education opportunities but merging will increase costs. We can't close any of the current schools, the teachers will join a stronger bargaining unit and receive increased salaries and benefits, we will take on the costs of the larger district, most expensive, busing…the list goes on. I am all for merging but not because it will save money as it won't. The only way we will see savings is for our legislature to address the tax issue , to get costs and pensions under control now, not years down the line, and most off all, get the charter school issue resolved once and for all.

  6. seriously ?, do you realize how many residents of Columbia work here ?? $100,000. a year for a good superintendent is pocket change. Tom needs to step up to the plate and change things for the better. If anyone can do it, Tom can.

  7. When one resident living on half of Strickler's salary is paying over four thousand dollars a year in school taxes to finance a $100,000+ salary, that's not adding up to pocket change, get real. Try living in the real world awhile and you'll be singing a different tune. Eliminate property taxes and you can keep your Strickler.

  9. Strickler has been involved for years, in one way or another, and not much has changed. Hopefully soon, the landlords will dominate this borough and pay ALL the school taxes. Homeowners should wise up and move out.

  10. The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is that good folks do nothing…or that good people cannot get their questions answered by a questionable school board.

  11. He hasn't kept ANY of his jobs for long. It speaks volumes about him and why our school has been failing for well more than a decade.

  12. Would love to see a news story that profiles the rise of Strickler in our schools and how the schools have fallen in direct proportion. How does an often unemployed person with an online degree and no classroom experience get to be superintendent….my guess would be he needed some help from his handpicked school board. This is embarrassing and disgusting and immoral to put it mildly. Does non-traditional really mean utterly reprehensible.
