  1. Instead of taking pictures….walk up and ask him what he is doing. He isn't hiding. If you're scared, say you're scared!

  2. The 2nd picture shows the police sitting there watching him. Why didn't they ask him what hes doing? Oh the that's right he's their boss.

  3. I cannot say if the person taking the pictures was “scared” or not, but I can say that they were concerned enough (about possible use of chemicals in close proximity to the river) to submit these photos to the Columbia Spy. Sharon Lintner

  4. Is that the mayor spraying chemicals? I thought we had a sick river. What about the runoff from this? Is he licensed to do this?

  5. Our “great” mayor is beyond reproach. He does anything he wants to do, legal or illegal, because no one can stop him because he will bully them. He's just as bad as the President and vice president of the Coffee Club.

  6. You people need to get a life. If you think Mayor Lutz would do anything to harm the environment then you dont know him very well.

  7. I agree. How do we know if maybe he had a chemical in there to help plants grow or control insects. If more Columbia residents would worry about weeds in front of their properties, then they can offer criticism. I do not always agree with the Mayor, but he assisted in getting grant money to improve the park and do not believe he would do something to harm it.

  8. Why don't the photographer take pictures of all the trash in the gutters and weed growth. Code enforcement needs to clamp down on this nonsense. They have the right to issue citations on site now. They wanted that power, now use it.

  9. By the activity at the River Park and the Trail, it was a good assist for the borough. One of positive things going for the town.

  10. One has to hold a pesticide license to spray weeds and such, especially on public ground! Does he possess one? Is he covered on the borough's insurance to do so?

  11. When I spray “Roundup” on the weeds that come up in my gutter,I need a license? Licenses are required for most chemicals that are not sold over the counter. In all cases ,caution should be used when applying.
