Too close for comfort?

Workers recently installed a natural gas service line near the former Long’s Funeral Home at 855 Chestnut Street. The line, which at last look was not protected, is quite close to the street, making it vulnerable to wayward vehicles.

  1. I have seen similar ones, albeit on a smaller scale at various locations throughout the borough. Some are placed where they present a tripping hazard. Unsightly and dangerous.

  4. UGI SHOULD be banned from doing any and all business in the Boro. Yes its ugly, looks unsafe and to finish it off they NEVER fix the street right. they are ALL over town these past 2 years trying to make a tremendous amount of money and no they do not care at what expense it is to the residients and owners of the properties.

  5. Nah, I'd rather have gas than oil or electric. I don't care what the meters look like. This isn't Colonial Williamsburg. To hell with the stupid historic district. Bring on the meters!
