3rd & Chestnut- Utility pole damaged, wires down in early morning vehicle accident

Due to the damaged pole and downed wires, traffic lights were out at 4th & Locust, as of 7:45 a.m.

Currently (7:15 a.m.), Chestnut Street is closed from 2nd to 4th.

Accident at 3rd and Chestnut

Emergency vehicles were called to 3rd and Chestnut at 4:04 this morning for a vehicle accident with entrapment.  Preliminary reports indicate that a Cavalier and truck collided and damaged a utility pole at the intersection. Areas around Locust, 4th and 3rd streets, as well as others have been affected.
