Another river rescue

Several rescue units responded to an incident Sunday morning involving a kayaker who went missing for a brief time on the Susquehanna River near Columbia River Park.  He and his wife had been in their kayaks when he became separated from her.  He was later found downriver by rescue personnel, offshore from Manor Township.  He and his wife were reunited on shore at River Park after he was rescued.

Fortunately, this story had a happy ending.

What did I hear/see?

Yesterday morning, right after 11 o’clock, it sounded like several large planes thundered over my house, heading south. The house shook. By the time I got to the window, all I could see was a plane in the distance, trailing exhaust, as it flew low over the Susquehanna. I don’t think it was an airliner. I wonder if it was a C-130 on its way to Dover Air Force Base, in response to the latest terrorism alert.

Bid stage under way for Columbia bypass project

LANCASTERONLINE
The Columbia bypass is finally ready to launch, with a bid opening early next year and work slated to begin by the spring.

The goal of the $12.7 million, state-funded project is to take truck traffic out of downtown Columbia, where it has rattled windows, torn up roads and vexed residents for years.

These notices have been popping up on properties around town lately.

The government is once again in the process of confiscating private property.

 Grammar anyone?

So what DID happen at this property on the 200 block of Locust?
It’s the same place as shown HERE.

Little Boy Blue casting his fate to the wind (or at least his line to the water).

The hands of fate?  Nah, just more cool kitsch at Burning Bridge Antiques.

 Jailed without due process

 Hitchin’ a ride

Seen on the 200 block of Union Street.  Is it legal?
If so, I want one for my property that says WHOVIAN ZONE.

Seen in Wrightsville.
Hmmm . . . .
