In 1960, a young lawyer named Robert Pfannebecker began proceedings against Rocky Springs and two other local pools on behalf of a group of concerned citizens called the Freedoms Committee. The Freedoms Committee was focused on unfair housing opportunities and other issues dealing with racial injustice in the community.

Columbia posts police department's use-of-force policy online, but much of it is blocked out

Columbia Borough’s police use-of-force policy has been posted online, following complaints from a councilwoman last month that she had been unable to see it.
The 21-page policy, posted to the borough’s website Friday, is heavily redacted: eight pages are completely grayed-out and eight are partially redacted.

Bike Auction Update: 20-person limit, Pre-registration required – JULY 25, 2020 | Columbia Borough Police Department

The Columbia Borough Police Department is having a Bicycle Auction on July 25, 2020 at 9:00am.  Attendance is limited to 20 people so pre-registration is required.  To register for the on-sight auction please email armoldp@columbiapd.org by 4:00pm on 7/23/20.  

The auction will also be Live Streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/johncarlauction.  
Masks and Social Distancing is required at all times during the auction.  
Please note that payments must be via PayPal or Credit Card – No Cash Accepted.
