I would also like to remind our constables that in their limited capacity as law enforcement officers, they have the duty to learn the law and do not have the right to harass citizens.

Why is it raining? The WGAL weathermen said it would be sunny and unseasonably warm this week. Their weather forecast should include a disclaimer that says “For entertainment purposes only. Not to be taken seriously.”
Recently overheard at a local grocery store
I overheard the following fragment of conversation at the next checkout line over as I was paying for groceries:
“I'm supposed to build a detector to detect cosmic rays from the Big Bang. I don't know how I'm going to do it. My professor was at MIT and is studying the particle structure of dark matter.”

Columbia Borough Codes Regarding Dogs (and Cats)
My recent post linking to a Lancaster Newspapers article concerning the euthanizing of stray dogs in the borough has received a lot of responses. Commenters have expressed displeasure and frustration about dog nuisance issues in Columbia.
I found the following ordinances regarding these issues in the borough codes book:
§ 82-10. Restraint of dogs required.
