California Borough hires new manager – Sam Sulkosky

California Borough in Washington County, PA has a new manager in town, and he has some ambitious plans for economic development and recreation.
Samuel Sulkosky, 52, originally from Indiana County, was tapped to fulfill the roles as manager, secretary and treasurer. He spent the past 14 years working in government and most recently served as manager of Columbia Borough in Lancaster County.

Cleaning up

Borough road crews were cleaning streets today.  Salt, trash, and other debris have accumulated after a long and trying winter. At last night’s borough council meeting of the whole, Borough Manager Ron Miller said that 300 tons of “anti-skid” was applied to the town’s roads this season, and that it will take a few weeks to remove it all.  He asked residents to bear with crews as they work to tidy things up.

Take Walnut Street west from Route 441 in Columbia to access this park, which features a boat launch and stairs down to the river directly beneath an arch in the Columbia Wrightsville Bridge.
