Albatwitch to be celebrated in Pennsylvania

Held by the Columbia Preservation Society, the all-day event will be in the 200 Block of Locust Street this coming Saturday, October 13. The festival features live musical performances, lectures, trolley rides and a pie-eating contest. Kid-friendly activities such as face painting and $5 trolley rides will also be available.

Woman with no pants on throws wooden pole at two women, is charged with open lewdness and disorderly conduct

On 9/19/18 at approximately 10:19pm the Columbia Borough Police Department was dispatched to the 300 Block of South Third Street for a report of disorderly conduct.  Upon arrival the officer observed Michelle Smith, 27, of Columbia, with no pants on, throwing a wooden pole at two women.  The witnesses stated that Smith had been throwing items at them while yelling obscenities.  Charges were filed against Smith for lewdness, harassment, and disorderly conduct.  Note:  All parties are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Members sworn in for Columbia's new appeals board

Mayor Leo Lutz swore in members of the Columbia Borough Board of Review and Appeals at October’s borough council meeting. Left to right, the members are Steve White, Margaret Nelson, Keith Kassees, Jeff Dale, and Curtis Rosche. The board will hear appeals from residents regarding property maintenance matters, including violations of existing borough ordinances.
