Speaking of mayflies, borough workers wrangled this giant one on Friday and brought it to River Park.
They placed it here, near the pavilion. It’s actually a bike rack that was designed last year by Bella Gentile, who was in third grade at the time.
Local artist John Morrow put it all together.
The many-legged thing is an apt addition to the park.

The rain gardens at the park are looking healthy.

By the way, when did Heritage DRIVE become Heritage STREET?!

This worker was painting the curbs the other day.
It didn’t help.
This Flagger Force worker politely and apologetically tried to explain to drivers why South 9th Street was blocked just beyond the intersection with Wright Street at the same time the left turn onto Wright Street was also blocked. Drivers had to turn right onto Wright [!] then right again onto South 10th Street, then back onto 462.
And this is planning?
A few minutes later, more traffic headaches, this time on the first block of South 6th.

The National Watch and Clock Museum celebrated its 75th anniversary this past week.

Great picture of a rare osprey catching his dinner for the night. There is a little over 100 nesting pairs found in Pennsylvania.

Currently, there are about a dozen commercial properties for sale in Columbia. Not all of them have signs in the windows. It's a perfect opportunity for retail shops.

Painting blue for littering over the yellow for No parking , does this mean they can park there now????

It's a great opportunity for businesses, however not many people want to deal with the Columbia Borough politics.

That property (where the fence is) looks like a lot of code violations other than the truck, is the codes guys doing any thing there like the rest of town? Or are they doing the Helm selective enforcement there?

The only problem is there isn't a whole lot of foot traffic roaming downtown Columbia unless there is an “event”.

I still have a picture of that same mailman on my phone from 5 years ago DOING THE EXACT SAME THING! He would post up in the green container for 15-20 minutes at a clip. I guess he is entitled to a break.

How long is the steel mayfly going to last? Is it ok to climb on? What ever happened to the large abstract steel artwork that was at front and locust (1980's)? Where the fenced in parking lot is at now. A big blue one and a yellow one if I recall.Deron
