Payment for tickets will no longer be accepted at borough office front desk starting December 1, 2017
Effective December 1, 2017, parking tickets and quick tickets will no longer be accepted at the front desk of the borough office. All tickets must be either mailed to the borough or placed in the drop box at the borough office. If you wish to contest a ticket you will need to do so by stopping at Magisterial District Judge Bixler’s office located at 341 Chestnut Street.
The drop box at the borough office is located on the front of the borough office just west of the entrance to the offices. The photo above shows the location of the drop box.
Kidde brand recalls fire extinguishers
A recall notice was recently issued for Kidde brand fire extinguishers. The company announced a recall of fire extinguishers with a plastic handle due to a failure to properly activate during a fire emergency.
The recall affects 134 models of Kidde fire extinguishers with plastic handles and push-button Pindicator extinguishers manufactured between January 1, 1973 and August 15, 2017.
Affected consumers should immediately contact Kidde for a free replacement fire extinguisher. To contact Kidde, call toll-free (855) 271-0773 or visit kidde.com and click on “Product Safety Recall” for additional information.

The Columbia Borough Police Department in conjunction with the U.S. Marine Corp League and Red Rose FOP Lodge# 16 is in the midst of collecting toys for the 2017 Toys for Tots drive.
